Commissioning a custom piece

Commissioning custom furniture is a collaborative process — one that begins with a conversation and evolves into a unique, handcrafted work of art tailored to your needs. Whether you're envisioning a slight variation on an existing piece or a completely new design, I welcome the opportunity to bring your ideas to life.

The first step

Most projects start with an email outlining your vision. You may already have reference images, dimensions, or a specific space in mind; any details you can share will help shape the direction of the piece. From there, we'll begin a dialogue to define the project's style, function, and scope. Some commissions are straightforward — adjusting the size or wood species of an existing design — while others are more involved, requiring new concepts and custom design work from the ground up.

Estimate

Once the broad parameters are established, I'll provide an initial estimate and a simple contract. Upon approval and deposit, I'll create 3D models or sketches to further refine the design. This iterative process allows us to make adjustments together, ensuring that the final piece reflects your vision down to the last detail.

Throughout the build, I'll provide updates, and at key stages I may invite you to review progress, especially when fine design details require your input.

Pricing

Each piece I make is one of a kind, built with careful attention to craftsmanship, materials, and longevity. Prices vary based on complexity, size, materials, and design labor.

If you're considering a custom piece, the best place to start is by reaching out via email. Tell me a bit about what you're looking for, your space, and your budget, and we'll take it from there.

Shipping and delivery

I am happy to deliver furniture throughout Denmark but also ship my furniture world wide, usually in very strong custom crates. Get in touch to discuss options and we'll find a shipping solution that works for you.

Other services

In addition to creating custom furniture, I offer a range of related services for clients seeking skilled craftsmanship and thoughtful design solutions. These include:

  • Restoration of antique furniture, with care taken to preserve original character while ensuring long-term stability and function.

  • Repairs, from structural fixes to surface refinishing, for both cherished heirlooms and everyday pieces.

  • Built-in interior solutions, such as shelving or cabinetry, and tailored to fit your space precisely—both aesthetically and functionally.

  • Prototypes for architects and designers, bringing early concepts to life with precision and attention to detail and the material at hand.

If you have a project in mind that doesn't fall neatly into a category, don't hesitate to reach out. I'm always open to interesting challenges where craftsmanship and creativity intersect.
